Xbox One issues being resolved as Microsoft recalls faulty units

The latest batch of next gen consoles related experience was not exactly what people pictured in their minds. Most of the units introduced by Sony and Microsoft had a faulty mechanism. By now, even if you are interested in buying an Xbox One or a PlayStation 4, deep down inside, you know you are a little skeptic.
This article is not about Microsoft Xbox One only; Sony is also busy fixing its consoles. I had a few friends who wanted to buy a PlayStation 4 as soon as it had a price drop during the Holiday season. However, the guys are still waiting for Sony to restock as all the units were recalled at Amazon, BestBuy and other retailers’ websites.
Meanwhile, the developers at Microsoft are busy doing the same stuff. There is an upcoming update which will not only offer new features in the console, but also patch up old hardware issues that are still pending. Marc Whitten, Xbox One Chief Product Officer, appreciates that Microsoft managed to sell more than 3 million units of its next gen console within weeks of its release.
“The feedback we’ve gotten is pretty valid; some of the social stuff is hidden or harder to use than it was on the Xbox 360. So you’re gonna see us come out with an update where, well, we’re going to fix those things. As a person who’s been pretty involved in building Xbox Live for the last decade, I take it pretty seriously when people say it’s harder to get into a party, and the defaults aren’t right, and I don’t like the model.”

Those people who already own the Xbox One fully working units don’t have to worry about anything. Microsoft will be releasing OTA updates to offer new features and stability controls. By the way, if you do have a faulty unit and it is under warranty, simply return it to Microsoft as part of their RMA policies.
Whitten does not have a specific date as to when the company will be releasing this new software patch. He says that the developers and market surveyors are busy checking in with people who have complaints regarding Xbox One’s user experience aspects.
As for Sony, their company President and U.S. marketing managers are not saying much. It is evident that while the PS4 units have been back ordered, the developers are busy making amends to the console batches. Stay tuned for further improvements. Please don’t be impulsive and wait for both companies to release more stable version, or upgrades of the gaming consoles.
A little bit of waiting is worth it. Trust me.
